Slime Rancher

A charming first-person simulation game where you explore a distant planet, collect and raise adorable slime creatures, and build a thriving ranch. Players must manage resources, expand their farm, and uncover the secrets of the alien world.

Slime Rancher is a delightful first-person life simulation adventure game that puts players in the shoes of Beatrix LeBeau, a plucky young rancher who sets off for a life a thousand light years away from Earth on the 'Far, Far Range'. The core gameplay loop revolves around exploring vibrant, alien landscapes, capturing various species of adorable, wobbly slimes, and bringing them back to your custom-built ranch. Players must feed these slimes their preferred foods, which in turn causes them to produce 'plorts' – the game's currency and resource. These plorts can be sold for Newbucks to upgrade the ranch, buy new equipment, and unlock new areas. The game brilliantly blends exploration with resource management and farming elements. As players delve deeper into the Far, Far Range, they'll encounter new slime types, each with unique diets, behaviors, and environmental needs. Managing different corrals, farms for food, and incubators for largo slimes (hybrids) becomes increasingly complex and rewarding. Beyond the daily ranching duties, there's a charming narrative woven throughout the game, revealed through messages from previous inhabitants and environmental storytelling, hinting at the mysteries of this whimsical planet and the fate of its former occupants. Slime Rancher's appeal lies in its extremely charming aesthetic, addictive gameplay loop, and relaxing atmosphere. There's a genuine joy in discovering a new slime, figuring out its favorite food, and watching your ranch fl…

FAQ

How do I get more Newbucks?
Newbucks are earned primarily by selling plorts at the Plort Market. The market value of plorts fluctuates daily, so keep an eye on prices to maximize your earnings. Completing quests for the Slime Science lab also rewards Newbucks.
What are Largos and how do I make them?
Largos are hybrid slimes formed when a slime eats a plort from a different species. For example, if a Pink Slime eats a Tabby Plort, it becomes a Pink Tabby Largo. Largos produce both types of plorts but beware, if they eat a third type of plort, they will turn into dangerous Tarr Slimes!
How do I unlock new areas?
New areas are usually unlocked by purchasing 'ranch expansions' in your ranch house or by interacting with specific 'slime gates' found in the world. These gates often require you to deposit a certain number of plorts or activate ancient devices.
What should I feed my slimes?
Each slime species has preferred foods that make them produce double the plorts. Pink Slimes eat anything. Rock Slimes love Heart Beets. Tabby Slimes love Stony Hens. Look up the Slimepedia for specific diets! Growing favorite foods on your ranch is highly efficient.
