Return to Rapture as a Big Daddy.
BioShock 2 returns players to the underwater dystopia of Rapture, this time as Subject Delta, a prototype Big Daddy searching for his bonded Little Sister. Set eight years after the original, the city has further deteriorated under the rule of collectivist leader Sofia Lamb, presenting a philosophical counterpoint to Andrew Ryan's objectivism. Playing as a Big Daddy fundamentally changes combat — you wield the iconic drill alongside plasmids and can adopt or harvest Little Sisters while defending them during gathering sequences. The Minerva's Den DLC is widely considered one of gaming's best expansions, telling a self-contained story of artificial intelligence and human memory. Multiplayer recreated the fall of Rapture in competitive matches. Despite living in the original's shadow, BioShock 2 offers the series' best gameplay mechanics and a deeply emotional narrative.
